Bellies stained with fake blood. Coca-Cola cans instead of curlers. Leather jackets with exaggeratedly padded shoulders. A third-floor Chromatica Ball Grindr orgy in London. These are just fragments from the lives of people who have dedicated their lives to the woman who “pioneered online fandom culture as we know it.” Her mother’s daughter, her sister’s sister—the incomparable rah rah bitch. Little Monsters have been through a lot since 2008. Now, when Ticketmaster prices are skyrocketing, homophobia is on the rise again, and Mayhem is upon us, the Monster4Life project is trying to collect some of the stories behind Lady Gaga fans. Why? Because we write the history of the kingdom, like Kings writing the history of their people, while She is something of a devoted Jester. Or as Kaitlyn Tiffany puts it: these stadium tours will be eclipsed; these chart records will inevitably be broken. The legacy is something else: the people who took the paragon of a commercial product and made it the foundational text of a new kind of culture. When you're lonely, we can chat and share your story.
